Acacia tree inspired artwork for wall decoration

Acacia Me!

Acrylic on Stretched Canvas

8" x 8" Unframed

This artwork was an inspiration from my study of Acacia tree/ wood occurring at numerous occasions in Bible stories.

Acacia tree grows in deserts (wilderness) and in abundance. It's wood is resistant to decay and attacks of insects. It's strength and durability makes it ideal for construction purposes and it lasts longer.

Few points to share from my study:

1. It was used as burnt offering wood. (Exodus 38)

2. It was used as raw material for the construction of the Tabernacle and for the building of its utensils: the Ark of the Covenant, the Altar and the Table and the Pillars of the Curtain as their length was certainly impressive. (Exodus 26)-

Wood from Shittim used for Holy Ark.

3. Part of the cross on which Jesus was crucified, was Acacia. Such a similarity between Acacia & Christ, both were indestructible.

Acacia wood is dense, thorny with gnarly grains, changing directions.

But God loves to take gnarly things and cover them with gold. (Exodus 37:28)

I recognise and relate so much with Acacia, maybe a difficult person to be with, sometimes thorny in my attitudes, changing my mind like Acacia wood grains, but still God uses me for His good purposes, He loves me and reveals His ever-increasing glory to me and through me. God's grace makes glad even the wilderness and solitary places in our lives by planting us as His Acacia - Gnarly still Blessed.

I pray this for you too, to know in your hearts that God loves us even with our unique gnarliness-

A treasure in the broken Jars of Clay through which shines His light.

Stay blessed!!
